Saliou Faye, Imam and Specialist in Prophetic Medicine, Among the Panelists at the AUB - UNDRR -RTS Climate Change Summit in Dakar



Dakar, Senegal – Saliou Faye, imam of the Grand Mosque of HLM in Podor and specialist in prophetic medicine, will participate as a panelist at the AUB -UNDRR - RTS Summit on Climate Change, scheduled for February 13th and 14th, 2025 in Dakar.


Born on March 14, 1984 in Thillé Podor, Saliou Faye obtained his baccalaureate in 2007 at the Elhadj Baba Ndiongue High School in Podor. His academic journey then led him to the Ahlou Diidy Koranic Institute in Guérou, Mauritania, where he studied Koranic sciences, then to Leférwa, also in Mauritania, to further his studies in Islamic sciences.


Beyond his religious role, Saliou Faye is also a teacher holding the Certificate of Pedagogical Aptitude (CAP) in elementary education since 2015. His participation in this summit on climate change reflects his commitment to environmental issues and his desire to contribute to the reflection on solutions to be found.


The AUB -UNDRR - RTS Summit on Climate Change will bring together experts, political figures and civil society actors to discuss the impacts of climate change and explore adaptation and mitigation strategies. The presence of Saliou Faye, with his dual role as imam and specialist in prophetic medicine, will bring a unique perspective on the spiritual and cultural dimensions of climate change.
