Summit on AI and Media: the AUB Delegation met with the Cameroon Radio Television - CRTV’s Top Management



In what seemed like a home coming, Director General of the African Union of Broadcasting, AUB Gregoire Ndjaka led a delegation of the AUB to the Cameroon Radio Television as part of preparations for the AUB Summit on Artificial Intelligence and Media scheduled for 4 to 6 March, 2024 in Yaoundé.


Mr Ndjaka said the meeting is to discuss and explore opportunities to ensure the success of the summit. He appreciated the Director General of the Cameroon Radio Television, Charles Ndongo for his support for the AUB and made a presentation of the operations of the AUB Content Exchange Centre in Algiers, Algeria.


The AUB DG also encouraged CRTV to take optimal advantage of the AUB content exchange platform by sourcing current news about other African countries from it and also contributing latest news about Cameroon to the platform so that other member broadcast organizations can get authentic news.



The Director General of the AUB presented expectations for the coverage of the March summit, and the production of the signal for the gala evening launching the AUB foundation against cancer. He requested CRTV to contribute to the foundation, but also to produce the signal for the gala evening and coverage of the event.


On his part, the Director General of the CRTV, Charles Ndongo, represented by the Deputy Director General commended the vision of the AUB and its leadership in placing Artificial Intelligence on the agenda for media discuss considering new global trends in the use of AI; the opportunities it provides and the need to be alert to red flags in its adoption.


He also promised to reverse the low use and contribution to the AUB content exchange platform while assuring the AUB DG of CRTV’s contribution to the success of the summit.
