Kigali hosted AUB’s 11th General Assembly
At the kind invitation of the Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA) and the Government of Rwanda, the African Union of Broadcasting's 11th Ordinary Session of the General Assembly took place at the Kigali Convention Centre from 12 to 16 March 2018, under the effective presidency of His Excellency Paul KAGAME, President of the Republic of Rwanda and Chairman of the African Union (AU).

12-13 March Forum on "The process of switch over from analogue to digital on-going throughout the continent".
15 and 16 March: AUB’s General Assembly under the theme: "Audiovisual Media and the question of Migration in Africa"
The Rwanda Forum wias open to Ministers of
Communication of the member countries of AUB’s Executive Council (Algeria, Angola, Botswana, Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Libya, Nigeria and Senegal), regulators of the audiovisual sector on the continent and the partners of this process. This important event was organized jointly with SMART AFRICA led by the Malian Hamadoun TOURE, former Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
As a prelude to this event, AUB’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Grégoire NDJAKA, held two working sessions in Kigali, Rwanda, from 11 to 17 September 2017, with the Director General of the Rwandan Broadcasting Agency, Mr. Arthur Asiimwe and the Director General of Smart Africa, Mr Hamadoun TOURE.
