Wadi Degla of Egypt to face Mali's As Mande in opener of the 2021 CAF Women's Champions League


The 2021 CAF Women’s Champions League also known as the 2021 TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League is the very-first edition in the history of African Women football interclubs.

Organized by the Confederation of African Football, it will hold from 5 to 19 November 2021, in Egypt.

The opener will bring together Wadi Degla of Egypt and As Mande of Mali.

Prior inaugural match, Wael El Sayed , Wadi Degla Coach declared: “We play at home, and we are facing the best teams in Africa. This is why I carry the same amount of respect for all the teams in the tournament”, he said.

According to Abdouramane Maiga, Coach of As Mande ladies, «expectations are very difficult now with this being the first tournament, however we tend to play our football and we will know about the teams as we go. At this moment, the difference between women’s football and men’s football is decreasing and it’s something we should be proud of.
